From Badik to Belati: The Harimau Berantai Fighting Knife (Archival Translation)

From Badik to Belati is an archival English translation of a Malay-language manuscript written in 2013 by Pendita (Ri Ilham) Jak Othman, one of the key voices within the Harimau Berantai lineage.

This text predates the Harimau Berantai TV (HBTV) era and was not released through any official platform at the time. Preserved here as Harimau Berantai Archive Series — No. 01, it is presented to prevent the loss of important lineage knowledge and to make it accessible to a wider, international audience.

Through the fighting knife (belati), the document reveals the underlying combat logic of Harimau Berantai — including range awareness, probability-based decision making, limb destruction, escalation, and restraint governed by faith and responsibility. It is not a modern self-defence manual, but a reflection of how the system understands violence, survival, and control.

This edition retains the author’s original voice and contextual grounding, supported by a glossary of Malay terms and an archivist’s colophon. It is offered for study, reflection, and historical understanding, not as a substitute for direct transmission under qualified teachers. In keeping with Harimau Berantai tradition, living practitioners remain the final reference.
